Yoshi’s Island is a stage set on a giant pop-up storybook. The stage seems to be made entirely of cardboard, apart from the wooden base. As the stage is a book, most of the stage itself is slanted inwards, with the exception of the highest platform, which is pretty flat. Due to the Clouds surrounding the stage (see below) you’re going have to hit your opponents hard if you want them to be knocked out. |

 | The Clouds that surround the stage offer players a chance to recovery easily. There is one Cloud to the left of the stage and two Clouds to the right. Be careful when on Clouds though, as they disappear if you have stood on them for too long. Clouds do not appear on Yoshi's Island during the 1 Player Game.
