The Poké Ball is an item that, when thrown, will send out one of many random Pokémon to aid the Player. The type of aid will vary depending on the Pokémon that comes out of the Poké Ball, from a super powerful move from a legendary Pokémon like Groudon’s Overheat, to a useless move like Goldeen’s Splash. It’s all about luck with this item.

You can check out a list of what Pokémon come out of the Poké Ball below.

Goldeen
Splash

Goldeen is the worst possible Pokémon to get from a Poké Ball. When sent out, it will splash about helplessly. Isn't Magikarp more suited for this role?

Staryu
Swift

Staryu will home in on one of the opponents, and cast a rapid Swift at them. The sheer speed of Swift will make it very tough to get out of this move if you get caught in it.

Snorlax
Body Slam

Snorlax will jump up out of view, and then fall back down larger than before. Snorlax takes up a lot of space, so be sure to get to a safe place before he comes back down.

Chikorita
Razor Leaf

Chikorita sends a barrage of razor sharp leaves in a single direction, causing damage to whoever ends up getting caught in the line of fire.

Torchic
Fire Spin

Torchic will unleash a ring of fire around itself, trapping opponents who get caught in the flames to accumulate a large amount of damage.

Gardevoir
Barrier

Gardevoir will summon a barrier to protect it's owner. This barrier helps protect players from being damaged by projectile attacks, but the barrier is in a set place, so movement with protection is limited..

Kyogre
Hydro Pump

Kyogre will float in the air, and unleash a powerful Hydro Pump onto the stage. Expect this legendary Pokémon to cause a lot of damage if the attack hits.

Groudon
Overheat

Groudon takes up a lot of room, and anyone unfortunate enough to get touched by the legendary Pokémon will be sent skyward in a fiery inferno.

Deoxys
Hyper Beam

Deoxys will fly up high, turn around to face the ground, and shoot off this strong beam of energy causing massive damage. The beam can go through platforms.

Piplup
Surf

Piplup will use Surf and push it's opponents accross the stage, possibly making them fall of the stage with it. This Pokémon performs better on simpler stages.

Munchlax
Swallow

Munchlax will walk around the stage, and eat any items it manages to get it's greedy hands on. Not very helpful, but at least it prevent your opponents from getting the eaten items.
