Released early on in the Gamecube's life, Super Smash Bros. Melee was eagerly awaited. Was it worth the wait? You better believe it!
Super Smash Bros. Melee boasted everything it's predecessor had, and more. The fighting system remained the same as before, with more than double the amount of Nintendo characters and stages than the last game and the unique fighting system we enjoy. With a cool graphics upgrade thanks to the Gamecube's power, Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of the sweetest looking games out there. New single player modes have been added, such as Adventure mode and the Event matches, as well as the Classic mode seen from the previous game making a return. The game still rocks in multiplayer mode too, with new special modes such as Coin matches, as well as the good old Stock and Time matches. Additionally, modes such as Giant and Invisible mode have been added in, where players battle under special circumstances. Gamers could also collect trophies throughout the game, each one providing a piece of Nintendo history. With more polished graphics and improved gameplay, it's no wonder why Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of the best selling games on the Gamecube! |
